Water Bore Automation Perth
Perth bore automation is one of our specialties. If you have an older style bore reticulation system, with a manual start switch and gate valves, we can automate it’s operation.
This makes watering your garden easy. You no longer have to turn the pump on and off. No more having to manually open and close gate valves, and no chance of forgetting to turn the pump off leaving it running for hours costing you money.
Existing manual pump start reticulation systems with gate valves are converted to fully automatic systems. Our in house bore specialist electrician can automate any system.
We replace the existing manual switch with an automatic reticulation controller and Direct Online Starter (DOL). The existing gate valves are replaced with appropriately sized solenoid valves.Your bore water reticulation system is then programmed to suit your watering requirements on your three rostered watering days.
We supply and install all major reticulation controllers including, Proline, Rainbird and Hunter.

Bore Air Development and/or Chemical Treatment
If your bore is not producing enough water we can treat the bore with the appropriate chemicals which will enhance water flow. If required we can air develop the bore to restore full function.
When it comes to maximising the production capacity of your water bore, a crucial step is bore development. This process utilises a combination of techniques, including the use of specialised chemicals and mechanical agitation of the bore screen and the surrounding aquifer.
One of the most commonly employed techniques is known as "Air Development" or air-lifting agitation. This method is highly effective in enhancing bore performance. One of the key chemicals used in this process is AMC WELLCLEAN™. This product is specifically designed for bore development and cleanup, particularly in cases where bentonite-based mud has been used during drilling. AMC WELLCLEAN™ excels at breaking down the viscosity of bentonite mud and dispersing any wall cake that may have formed within the drill hole. This promotes a rapid and efficient cleanup.
Water bore air development primarily focuses on removing clay and silt particles introduced during the drilling process, as well as finer materials from the aquifer surrounding the bore screen. This ensures the bore is in optimal condition before being put into service. The process involves injecting compressed air into the water bore to lift the water. Once the water reaches the top of the casing, the air supply is shut off, causing the aerated water column to descend. This cycle alternates with periodic air supply to continuously pump sediment from the water bore.
Development efforts should persist until the discharge water runs clear, and all fine materials from both the water bore and the adjacent aquifer have been effectively eliminated. Chemical methods may also be employed, utilising dispersants and detergents to wet, break down, and facilitate the removal of clayey materials and fines from the formation. Final development often involves mechanical means.
In addition to enhancing bore production capacity, bore development serves to stabilise the formation. The formation acts as a natural filter, preventing the pumping of sand, which could otherwise lead to severe damage to pumps and fittings. In most formations, the application of appropriate development techniques will result in a virtually sand-free or silt-free bore. In cases where the aquifer material is exceptionally fine, a compromise may be necessary to achieve an acceptable flow rate while maintaining a relatively sand-free water supply.
Investing in bore development is not just about optimising production; it's about ensuring the longevity and reliability of your water bore system.

Down Hole Camera Services (DTH)
We sometimes need to identify water bore problems that cannot be determined without “seeing” the problem.
When you can see the problem, you can fix the problem. A picture is worth a thousand words… Take advantage of the latest technology
Aquarian Drilling uses underground cameras for viewing downhole and sideview images and videos in water wells.
Attached to a mono-conductor cable, the camera allows for real time observation of the casing and well screen to discover cracks, holes, biofouling or areas of corrosion.
The camera enables us to help diagnose problems in Perth water bores, it also allows us to save images and videos of the downhole inspection to a DVD for our customers.
Retrieval of Stuck or Dropped Pumps
We specialise in retrieving stuck or broken off submersible bore pumps. We often get calls from customers and other contractors to come out and "fish" either stuck or dropped pumps from water bore holes.
There are many reasons why submersible pumps get stuck. The most common cause we have seen over the last 30 years is because tree roots have managed to get in to the bore through either a breach in the casing, through screens set to shallow or from the surface. The roots enter the casing and grow at a rapid rate due to the abundant water source.
Another reason is that the pump may have been set to low by the original driller allowing sediment and silt to build up over the pump.
In some cases the bore hole is no longer perpendicular, misalignment can cause the pump to lie against one side of the casing, resulting in excessive wear. If the casing is in contact with a hot motor, it can also cause PVC casing to melt or become deformed.
We quite often find that the owner has tried to “Pull the Pump”, on their own and have jammed the pump in the bore or have even broken the Stainless Steel cable, electrical cable or delivery pipe off the pump.
We have specialist tools and many years of industry experience that most times enables us to not only recover the stuck submersible pump but more importantly save the costs of re drilling a new water bore.
Re sleeving Bores
Is your water bore letting a small amount of fine sand through that is causing issues with your bore holding prime? Depending upon the extent of the problem your old bore or well can often be resleeved at a fraction of the cost of a new installation The installation of an appropriately sized internal PVC Slotted screen can solve the problem at a fraction of the cost of a new installation.
Non Return Valve Replacement (NRV or “Check Valve”)
We only supply and install quality Alderdice Australian made brass non return valves. We have found over the years that there is no substitute to quality. We have seen many other contractors installing plastic or imported spring loaded brass valves that fail within 12 months. The Check valve is the key component keeping your system operational.
